Countercurrent Chromatography

Countercurrent separation (CCS), also known as countercurrent chromatography (CCC), is pure liquid-liquid chromatography without a solid support.  The “column” for CCS is simply a biphasic mixture of two or more solvents.  InovaChrom has extensive expertise in determining the correct mixture of solvents required for CCS.

Advantages of CCS include:

  • Selectivity which complements that of Reverse Phase (RP) HPLC and SFC
  • Complete recovery of injected sample
  • Lower solvent consumption than conventional chromatography
  • No costly solid stationary phases

Macroporous Resin Chromatography, Ion Exchange, and Medium Pressure Chromatography

InovaChrom utilizes a wide range of separation methods to complement our CCS technology. These range from classical silica gel column chromatography to modern macroporous resin separations.

Polymeric macroporous resin adsorption/elution and chromatography have many advantages for complex purification problems. These resins are available in various neutral polymers and ion exchangers and have long been a mainstay for natural product purification.
